gnucash
by David McCormick
gnucash in FC-7-4 starts to open with the flash screen and then
disappears. I have tried to find the log t see what is happening but
must be looking in the wrong place Where should I look and has anyone
else had this happen? It was a fresh install of FC-7-4 but using an
existing /home partition.

mplayerplug-in problem?
by Knute Johnson
I've been playing with F7 and really like it so far but I've run into
one snag. I yummed mplayer and mplayerplug-in from livna
(developement) and I can't get the plugin to work. At least it
doesn't work on my favorite radio station kfi640.com. It worked just
fine with FC6. Could somebody else give it a try and see if it works
for them? Or tell me that it won't work - what could I be thinking :-
).
Thanks,

FC7T4 Not Seeing Pre-existing software raid arrays
by Clyde E. Kunkel
Am I the only person who is having this problem with FC7T3 & 4 and
network installs of development?
Clean install attempts on a test machine that is currently running
rawhide just fine fail since anaconda does not see all pre-existing raid
arrays and those it does see are classified as having foreign file
systems, not ext3. I have to copy /etc/mdadm.conf to the proposed boot
drive and go to console 2 at the beginning of the install to start the
arrays, then lvm vgchange the LVs. Only then does the partitioner in
anaconda see all of the arrays and the LVs. Install works fine after that.

Core / Extras -> Fedora
by Jesse Keating
That's right, it's finally here. We are merging Core and Extras into just
Fedora. The work started this morning, and some processes will continue
through the night. Tomorrow we'll pick up where things left off and continue
making it happen. As such, there will not be a new rawhide tonight, and
there won't be any Extras pushes for devel either.
See http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/CoreExtrasMerge for further
details.
More news will follow as we get closer to finalizing the merger.

Duplicated file in xorg packages in F7T4
by Martin Sourada
Dunno, if this belongs on this list, yet, I played a little with listen cause it
refused start[1] and came to problem when installing xorg-x11-server-Xvfb. Yum
complaint:
Transaction Check Error:
file /usr/share/man/man1/Xserver.1.gz from install of
xorg-x11-server-Xvfb-1.3.0.0-3.fc7 conflicts with file from package
xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.2.99.905-5.fc7
Seems I'll have to install it manually. Do you think I should fill a bugzilla
for such a tiny hickup?
Thanks,
Martin

F7t4 - intel driver doesn't seem to hot-swap displays
by Per Bothner
I thought the big feature of the new "intel" driver was its
ability to hot-swap displays. It doesn't seem to work for me, though I
realize this is beta code, and perhaps it isn't expected to work yet.
(If it is expected to work, I can file bugzilla report and provide
more details.)
I have a Dell Inspiron R1405 with a 945GM chipsset and a 1440x900
screen. If I boot with my external monitor (ViewSonic, 1600x1200)
plugged in, then the external monitor is recognized, and 1600x1200
is used. The laptop mirrors the external monitor. It would be nice
to be able to show separate screens (with nvidia calls "twinview"),
but I haven't figured out how to do that, and it's not that important
to me.
What would be nice is being able to plug in an external monitor *after*
X has started, and have it be recognized, and used at full 1600x1200
resolution. When if I unplug the external monitor, I should be back
to the laptop, at 1440x900 resolution.
As I said, if this expected to work, I'll collect more data and
submit a bugzilla entry
