howto remove fedora?

Sorry I know this has been asked several times before but, I need easy 
answer fast.
I have to send my laptop to repairs and I really don't want to hear any 
hints from them that the hardware is broken because of fedora.
So I'm going to remove fedora before I send it to repair. What is the 
easiest way?

Riku

- Delete the Partitions which have fedora installed.
- Reinstall Windows MBR

Simple two-step process:

1. Remove all partitions
2. Re-write or zero the Master Boot Record (MBR)


The 2nd step is critical, otherwise GRUB will appear and complain that
there are no operating systems to boot.

If you don't want any OS on your disks you can boot with the recovery CD
and run a destructive badblocks test.
More likely they are going to expect some version of Windows on the
laptop, if it came with one. In that case you may have a restore disk or
a hidden partition that you can use to put it back.
I am not sure what the easiest way to do things are if you are already
duel booting and want to change the master boot record to just boot Windows.

In windows, use fixmbr command (presuming XP)

Yank the hard drive.  Most vendors won't argue with you unless you are
sending it in for a defect in the hard drive.  Many people keep personal
or business information on their computers that they would prefer not to
share with some random PC tech who happens to get nosy.

Of course if your laptop doesn't have an easily removable drive my idea
probably isn't worth much except as something to keep in mind for your
next laptop purchase.

The easiest is the best. Remove the HD. Tell the vendor that the security of your data
requires it. Whatever's wrong with your system doesn't require that they have your
HD to find and correct the problem, unless the problem is the HD itself, in which case
there's no reason for you to send the laptop out for repair.
