I have only the first CD of severn, My computer has a CDROM drive, no floppy drive. Could I boot from the first CD when install, and then choose the NFS ISO install method ?

Yes. Try the following at the boot: prompt
"linux askmethod" (for text based network install) "linux askmethod graphical"
--Jack
Interesting, that. I didn't know about the 'graphical' option. Thanks. Would you happen to know how to get mediacheck to work for NFS images? The release notes claims mediacheck works for NFS, and it did at one point a few releases ago, but the capbility seems lost now.
Thanks
Bob

Should work for NFS ISO installs.
Cheers,
Jeremy
Yes you can.
At the boot: prompt type 'linux askmethod'
Example:
boot: linux askmethod
Then you will come to a language screen, a keyboard and mouse screen, and then you'll be asked what type of installation you want to do. One of the options is 'NFS image'. Select that one.

Use the boot CD iso in CD/images... (where the boot floppies are). You can boot from it, and the select NFS, FTP, DISK, CD, HTTP (SuSE has SMB too...).

You don't need boot.iso, but can use it if you really want to. CD #1 is bootable, of course, and supports 'linux askmethod' at the boot prompt. Plus you use it as a rescue CD. I've used both a boot.iso CD and CD #1 just for fun and games.
Doesn't really seem to matter what you pick either way...

Why yes, of course... But the boot.iso fits on a mini CD... (!), and that is cooll and usefull to have in the pocket of the support guys...
