-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Test Update Notification FEDORA-2007-3398 2007-11-16 00:35:58.342961 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : telepathy-haze Product : Fedora 8 Version : 0.1.3 Release : 1.fc8 URL : http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/Telepathy Summary : A multi-protocol Libpurple connection manager for Telepathy Description : telepathy-haze is a connection manager built around libpurple, the core of Pidgin (formerly Gaim), as a Summer of Code project under the Pidgin umbrella. Ultimately, any protocol supported by libpurple will be supported by telepathy-haze; for now, XMPP, MSN and AIM are known to work acceptably, and others will probably work too.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information:
This is a new package for Fedora. Install the telepathy-haze-mission-control package if you'd like to use Haze with applications such as Empathy, or others which use Mission Control for their Telepathy management.
telepathy-haze 0.1.3 fixes several bugs, most notably mistakenly deleting ~/.purple (the user's Pidgin/Finch configurations) on exit with Pidgin/Libpurple versions 2.3.0 or greater.
It also adds some functionality such reporting message send errors where applicable and a manual page for the connection manager, telepathy-haze(8). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References:

Is this supposed to add the ability to chat with Yahoo buddies via Empathy? I couldn't see any visible difference after installing this package. Any hits would be appreciated.

Hi, Rahul.
To use it with Empathy, you'll need to install the Mission Control subpackage (telepathy-haze-mission-control) which contains the profile information it needs to properly use Haze's various connection managers.
Currently, only AIM and MSN are supported; but I will endeavour to add Y!IM capabilities to the next release.

This ability will be part of 0.1.4-1; have fun. :)
