It helped me to be able to mount ext3 snapshots. Still get some warnings about not being able to write when mounting/umounting. I figured it had something to do w/ the journal. I haven't tried to explicitly mount it as ext2 yet.

The write errors are to be expected if you didn't specify to mount the device ro. I believe snapshots are only read-only.

I do believe I've specified -o ro though.
