Dear all,
k3b is complaining about access to /dev/sr0
has there been a change that is causing this?
No write access to device /dev/sr0 K3b needs write access to all the devices to perform certain tasks. Without it you might encounter problems with HL-DT-ST - DVDRAM GMA-4082N Solution: Make sure you have write access to /dev/sr0. In case you are not using devfs or udev K3bSetup is able to do this for you.
Mp3 Audio Decoder plugin not found. K3b could not load or find the Mp3 decoder plugin. This means that you will not be able to create Audio CDs from Mp3 files. Many Linux distributions do not include Mp3 support for legal reasons. Solution: To enable Mp3 support, please install the MAD Mp3 decoding library as well as the K3b MAD Mp3 decoder plugin (the latter may already be installed but not functional due to the missing libmad). Some distributions allow installation of Mp3 support via an online update tool (i.e. SuSE's YOU).
TIA,
Antonio

How did you login? Is ConsoleKit functioning properly? what does $ ck-list-sessions say?
[olivares@localhost ~]$ ck-list-sessions Session2: uid = '500' realname = 'olivares' seat = 'Seat1' session-type = '' active = TRUE x11-display = ':0' x11-display-device = '/dev/tty7' display-device = '' remote-host-name = '' is-local = TRUE on-since = '2008-05-21T12:07:40Z' [olivares@localhost ~]$

I am away from that machine and will not get back to it until last week in August. Several updates apparently fixed it, but then it came back again. I am sorry for not replying to your response, but I am off testing for the summer months till I go back to work.

Antonio

I have the same situation including the same output of ck-list-sessions.. My output of [rhendershot@MVX2 ~]$ getfacl /dev/sr0 getfacl: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names # file: dev/sr0 # owner: root # group: disk user::rw- user:rhendershot:rw- #effective:r-- group::r-- mask::r-- other::--- [rhendershot@MVX2 ~]$
is after I added myself to the disk group. K3b still gives me the error.

Thanks! I'll use your patch until this gets straightened out.
