Hi,
I tried to run Fedora 14 Alpha Live on my laptop, but X failed to work. Laptop has Hybrid graphics with Nvidia and Intel HD.
Nvidia - M330 - X failed to start (same with 'nomodeset') Intel HD - Hanged
I have tried with Fedora 13, but it is not working, need to install with text (vnc) mode and resolution is only 1024x768, while hardware supports upto 1600x900.
Fedora 13 bugs: Nvidia: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=610496 Intel HD: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=618481
Need help to debug issues. Please help me
thanks

I think I can guess what laptop you have. :)
If it's a Vaio Z, then yes, there's trouble with the odd hybrid graphics it has. To get it working, you need to do a BIOS hack:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/473226-insyde-hacking-new-vaio-z-advanc...
then set the new BIOS setting that appears for the video card to 'static' or something (I forget the exact setting, but what it does is let you 'lock in' one graphics card or the other, instead of both being available to the OS, as is the case by default no matter which switch position you set).
then set the mode switch to 'speed'. Boot with the vesa driver or to text mode or something (or you can use the proprietary driver, it works), and install a kernel of version 2.6.35.1-5.rc1 or later. Then try the nouveau driver, and it should work. Intel is still broken.
I have bugs open already:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=596557 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=596562
I'll mark yours as dupes of mine.

it is DONE!

currently I have 2.6.34.5-44.fc13.x86_64 kernel, which improve resolution from 1027x768 -> 1280x800.
will kernel-2.6.35.4-12.fc14 help more?

kernel-2.6.34.5-44.fc13.x86_64 and kernel-2.6.35.4-12.fc14.x86_64
both works same on laptop for Nvidia card with complete resolution (1600x900) (last time forgot to remove 'nomodeset').
Thanks
