Reverting GConf2 packages "fixed this for me". (I noticed some new SELinux messages that may be causing this, and reported to dwalsh already.)
I had other issues that reverting gnome-session and gnome-settings-daemon fixed.....

Indeed. ~/.xsession-errors fills instantly with messagers like those. I did not have time yet to investigate.

It does not look that way. It happened to me on an installation where selinux is just turned off.
I had other issues that reverting gnome-session and gnome-settings-daemon fixed.....
Will have to try these too when I will have a chance. :-)
