F11 yum: "Running Transaction test" for over an hour ??

Running yum upgrade on F11, yum dl's a modest amount of stuff - mesa, 
firefox,etc. But now it's been running transaction test for over an hour 
on two different machines! Even for really big upgrades this never has 
taken more than a few minutes.

Any clues?

strace the process. Look for a FUTEX_WAIT.

Didn't find a FUTEX_WAIT.

Tried again after yum clean all, same result.

fun - seems like sqlite has gotten itself wedged. Is your /var/cache/yum 
on an odd fs? If not - just run: yum clean all

and try again.

I rather think it's the RPM database being deadlocked somehow. Removing 
/var/lib/rpm/__db.00* can help.
