As per the Fedora 21 schedule [1], Fedora 21 Alpha Test Compose 6 (TC6)
is now available for testing. Content information, including changes,
can be found at https://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng/ticket/5940#comment:9 .
Please see the following pages for download links (including delta ISOs)
and testing instructions. Normally dl.fedoraproject.org should provide
the fastest download, but download-ib01.fedoraproject.org is available
as a mirror (with an approximately 1 hour lag) in case of trouble. To
use it, just replace "dl" with "download-ib01" in the download URL.

the way 'Fedora' and 'Workstation' are separate elements, for e.g.

If I knew why someone thought 21_Alpha_TC6 was better than F21a-TC1 and
21-Alpha-TC3 I could do better. I never put underscores or whitespace in
filenames or directory names. Names of downloads that do either get trashed
or renamed. What's wrong with 21AlphaTC6, kdeRuntimeLibs or
googleDroidSansMonoFonts, all of which can be pronouced without a bazillion
extra syllables? Un-der-score, multiply? Why does anyone do that? Can anyone
type an underscore without looking at the keyboard? Underscores for most
purposes (not all), are _booby_traps_ (only after clicking send will I know
if they produced the result I want).

I took typing in high school too, likely 3 years before you did, but my right
pinkie does not like the top row, especially when the left one is contorting
at the same time, and the ancient eyes are in the habit of looking first to
see what keys are actually up there, whether the BS key is one wide or two,
and what's sitting beside it if only one. Another thing about that underscore
key and its neighbors, my finger muscles don't work the same now as they did
when I was 14, when erasing mistakes required whiteout or tape strips. :-p

this is actually a property of each of the schemes that have been used
for F21 so far, it's only when you have a mix of them in a single
directory that it may break, which obviously isn't the long term intent.
Each one taken alone would order correctly, because the non-'version'-y
elements would not change between builds, and the 'version'-y elements
are in the correct order within the name.
well, I suppose there is one issue with all the current systems, that
being that 'TC' beats 'RC' in most sorting orders. I'm not sure what
we
can do about that without renaming the composes, though.

Not really. At least, it wasn't *my* intent. I literally wrote the
policy by looking at a gedit window containing every filename in the
Alpha TC1 compose and thinking 'what would be a scheme that'd be
consistent across all of these?' I was looking at filenames and just
trying to come up with a consistent scheme, because the mishmash we had
was getting unmanageable. I wasn't considering the directory structure
at all. Remember the naming scheme applies to official pre-releases
(Alpha, Beta) and the final release as well, which don't live in the
stage/ structure, obviously - it's a general naming scheme for Fedora
deliverables, it's not specific to stage/.
But! Having said that, it's not like I don't want something like you
propose. It might be a useful thing indeed. You'd have to ask dgilmore
for the details of how stage/ is 'composed', though - at least a few
years back I think it was basically manual, so there wouldn't be an easy
way to make this happen painlessly/automatically.

I know the files exist, but I don't remember their structure, I just typed something
random to illustrate it. Of course it would be a good idea to have that consistent :)
