After updating to today's Rawhide, my system hangs on boot, the last message displayed is, "starting system logger." Reverting to rsyslog-4.4.2-4.fc13.x86_64 eliminates the problem. Anyone else seeing this before I file a bz?

There is a scratch build referenced here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=563348#c5
Downgrading to rsyslog-4.4.2-3.fc13 may also work for you....

I booted another distro on my hard drive (a live image on cd or usb stick would work), downloaded the older rpm file from koji, chrooted to my Rawhide installation, then used rpm -Uvh --oldpackage to install.

I added "1" as a boot parameter in grub (hold down ctrl to get to the menu, press "a" and then " 1", enter -> boot) to get to single user which worked. Hooked up a wired network, "ifup eth0" and fetched http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/rsyslog/4.4.2/6.fc13/x86_64/rsysl... which I installed.
That one seems to work. Thanks!

I had the issue first start appearing with -4. It turned out there was a timeout and if you wait several minutes the system would finish booting.

I guess I'm just impatient. I wonder why I didn't have the timeout problem with -4. Upgraded to -6, and all appears to be well

I used the i686 rpm which may account for the difference. One theory in the bug tracking this is that there was a race during the build process and some builds were getting corrupted, but maybe not all of them.
