Thanks Council for supporting G11N FAD :) One update is we have got an approval from RH G11N group for accommodation support.

If we get requested budget from OSAS that will be best case. If less than that we will try to prioritize our spendings.

One update on requested budget. One attendee Alex Eng is going to attend Open Stack summit and has got airfare budget from other sources. It reduces our total budget.

Presently request budget from Fedora is $6230. /We waiting for final approval. Once it done we can actually start working on next items.

17:21:39 <decause> I have spoken with rsuehle, who suggested that historically, we keep our FADs between 3-5K, but in this extraordinary circumstance, if the project thinks this is a prioirity, and the FPL gives blessing, then we can find budget 17:21:58 <decause> since mattdm isn't here, I can't speak for him, but in the past he has voiced support 17:22:22 <decause> so, I would say start getting ducks in a row on booking things if you haven't already, so that when he can give the OK, we can move forward 17:22:40 <pravins> yeah, FPL has been big support for G11N. 17:22:56 <decause> pravins: thank you for your patience, this has been a particularly busy time for OSAS peeps, and I'm hopeful the FAD can move forward 17:23:00 <jwb> i'm not sure we really need to wait for mattdm but whatever 17:23:29 <decause> jwb: nod nod 17:23:59 <decause> pravins: move forward as though you have approval, as mattdm has said so in the past, and we can get a formal ok from him later

Yeah, as per https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_organize_a_FAD#Approval, the formal approval comes from the Council at large and does not need to wait for me. The open question is the greater-than-5k budget. I do think this is overall high-value for Fedora, since it brings some cohesiveness to a previously-tangled part of of the project. I don't think there are competing FAD requests for the budget, so I'm +1, but would like to hear the rest of you weigh in on the extra expenditure. I'd be particularly concerned if this leaves us with, for example, a shortfall in reaching our university outreach objective.
