Hello! My name is Malin, I'm 18 y.o. Asian born and live in Ukraine, Kyiv. I am not a newbie here, but this is my first time seriously joining any community of Fedora! I am a University student, second year majoring in Computer Science. I am not sure whether I have enough knowledge to contribute to the Fedora Project right now, but I would like to do it later using my CS skills. Nice to meet you all!
Hello Malin, welcome to the Fedora Project! We're glad to have you here with us. :)
In regards to having enough knowledge in order to contribute, I'd take a bet you probably have enough to get started already. :) It's easy to look at number of the "big" things happening in Fedora and think they're too hard and out of reach, but there's so many smaller AND important things that all lead up to those bigger things too. As a student myself, I realized this only after I began contributing. I figured out that I wasn't giving myself enough credit for the ways I could help or contribute with the skills I already had.
What languages are you familiar with already, or is there any kind of specific area you'd be thinking of contributing towards?
In either case, one great website you will probably want to check out and play around with is "What can I do for Fedora?"
http://whatcanidoforfedora.org/
This site has a quick and easy way for you to see all of the different places you can contribute to in Fedora and try to find something that fits well for you. You can learn more about any of the different teams, sub-projects, or SIGs at the endpoint on the site.
Of course, we're always here to help answer any questions you might have if you get stuck or are confused on something. Hope you find all of this useful. And welcome to Fedora!
