Hi,
long time lurker on the mailing list, but my first post.
I'm a Haskell n00b and due to learning the language have build my first app, which I'm currently packaging in a copr repo:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/romanofski/gtfsschedule/
There are only a few packages missing in Fedora like *conduit and persistent* which would make my life easier. Since I'm also trying to get more packaging experience, I'm wondering if I could provide any help with getting these maintained in Fedora, but in return ask for a bit of guidance and how to do that?
PS: Love cabal-rpm! Very cool tool!
Kind Regards,
Hi Róman,
Great to hear from you.

Cool

Sure, why not.

Sounds good to me if you happy to help own and maintain the packages. Alternatively you could also help to review them at least.
There is that not that much too the package submission/review process. The biggest work in the long term is really maintaining the packages, which I am slowing trying to automate more.
There are a few notes on the Haskell_SIG wiki page
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Haskell_SIG#New_Package_Process
and there are general wiki packages describing the package submission process. Probably easiest if you ask more questions, and can help you get you up to speed. #fedora-haskell is also there.

Thank you! It can still be improved lots more but glad you like it.

Already joined the channel. Thanks for the pointer to the process. That'll keep me busy for a bit until I come back with a few more questions.
Kind Regards,

Thanks for the pointer. I've seen half of the packages I need already been filed for review, so it seems the best way forward is to review these. I'll pester a colleague for now with Fedora review questions. If there is anything Haskell specific I'll ask here.
Cheers!

Most of these are probably reviews I posted :) .
Just a note that I'm on vacation from Tuesday until the end of the month, but I can try and update stuff on Monday if you ping the reviews you need the most.

Nothing is needed urgently. I'll need some time to learn the reviewing as well. So enjoy your vacation :)
Kind Regards,
Róman, BTW one thing you could do is to setup up a Copr repo with the packages you want. Copr is a great packaging playground. I think that might help you to get a better feel for the packaging too. Of course good to go ahead with the reviews too.

Yeah I love copr. I already have one created:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/romanofski/gtfsschedule/
and so helped me to get a bit more insight into the packaging process.
Cheers for the pointer!
