I attempt to ssh to
bastion.fedoraproject.org and get only the host closed connection
message. I can ssh to
fedoraproject.org successfully but then can not go anywhere else. On
fp.org I see the ssh key in my .ssh folder and it's the one I am using on my local
machine, but must be doing something wrong to get to bastion.

well, what are you trying to do with the key? ;)
It should provide you access to
bastion.fedoraproject.org and many
other machines if you are in the fi-apprentice group.
Drop by on irc and we can troubleshoot.
