There was a bug in java-gcj-compat but only between two rawhide
versions. It should now be fixed. Try re-installing these RPMs
(manually if you have to ... they might be in /var/cache/yum somewhere)
and see if it re-creates the script.

By doing a --force --allfiles update on
java-1.4.2-gcj-compat-1.4.2.0-40jpp_55rh that cured the problem.
