Oh, ls /mnt/live shows it empty at this point...
Okay, fedora-live does:
mount -o ro /dev/live /mnt/live
if I do:
mount /dev/live /mnt/live
it works. Forget the fuser stuff, that's me being dumb.
So, what's causing this?
