Yes.
My superstition is that if I ever let Windows boot while the USB stick
is plugged in, Windows scribbles something on the stick. I have *not*
tested this hypothesis.
It is easy to accidentally let Windows boot because each machine seems
to have a different keystroke to request booting into the firmware
boot menu.
