"Kernel image" here means the kernel itself, not the initrd. So, enter
"/mnt/sysimage/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.9-1.667". You have to add the initrd to
yaboot.conf yourself afterwards.
I tried also "/mnt/sysimage/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.9-1.667" and got the same error.

Are you sure it says "/dev/hda", not "/tmp/hda"? Because that was the
problem I had. I'd guess it should work with "/dev/hda". If not, what's
the output of "ofpath /dev/hda"? If it says something like "no such
file", what's the output of "ls /dev/hd*"? And what's the output
of
"mount | grep sysimage"?
I am pretty sure it said "/dev/had". I can't reproduce it now since yaboot
worked after I did the following. I re-ran the install CDs and updated FC3. Then I edited
"/etc/fstab" with "/dev/hda11" instead of "LABEL=/" in the
first line and did "chroot /mnt/sysimage". After that yaboot worked.
Now if only I can get the gui work on my iBook G3...
