Fedora 7 RC Live images available via torrent
by Jeremy Katz
RC of the Fedora 7 Live image set (i686, x86_64, i686 KDE and x86_64
KDE) are now available at http://torrent.fedoraproject.org.
Note that the i686 images require an i686 class machine and should be
able to be burned on 700 meg CD images.
The x86_64 images are more intended for DVD media, but brave souls may
get away with the extended CD formats :-)
Thanks for your testing help!

Another thing that I have not mentioned is that
nautilus always starts up at the beginning. I see a
file nautilus-debug-log.txt in the home directory.

by putting the following in ~/nautilus-debug-log.conf

How do I fix this? In the Laptop also running
RAWHIDE, upon fixing GNOME, I do not get this
behavior.
Again the other cd drive does not show up, if I remove
the cd in there.

URGENT - need installable Rawhide from 5/24 (or 5/25)
by Ian Pilcher
Sorry to be a bit shrill, but I *really* would like to test whether
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=151653
is actually fixed before F7 ships.
I've checked 15 or so mirrors, and none of them has yesterday's or
today's Rawhide (including the installation kernel/initrd).
If anyone knows of a current mirror, *please* let me know.
Thanks!

Weird fsck
by Jim Bevier
Yesterday while booting up a new OS (Athlon 64 X2 kernel 2.6.21-1.3189.fc7),
the root ext3 partition had been mounted 20 time and the system said a check
was required. It failed with an uncorrectable error. I tried it again and
again it failed and dropped me into a shell prompt. I know there should not
be any error. So, I booted into FC6 which ran the check on the partition
when booting.. It passed OK. Rebooting into FC7 booted up OK. Is this
some sort of voodoo magic or is there some reason for this weird fsck
error???

ok. this solved all the problems.
I thought the fc6 rpms to be there by mistake and so i tried to clean.....
Instead it seems correct to have .fc6 packages in fc7.... Was this the
case also in the past versions?
But the worse thing is: how could I "rpm -e" a package that broke 4
services + yum + Xorg start, without any warning / preventing
message.....?????

DVD content
by Adam Pribyl
I noticed the complete DVD of F7 is smaller than DVD for FC6. This I do
not understand when the Core was merged with Extras, how that comes that
DVD is smaller? Are there all packages from Core and Extras
or it's only some subset? What is the selection criteria now when extras
are gone?
