Try:
map to guest = Bad User
Browsing Samba servers anonymously (ie, no name/password) is disabled by default now (for obvious security reasons) - you must explicitly enable it.
Didn't solved my problem. I've experimented with
security = user
and
security = share
same effect:
you see the Linux-box from WinXP, but you can't browse it.
Searching for the problem goes on....

Did you try the SignOrSeal registry fix on the XP box? I'm not sure if it's still required with Samba 3.0, but trying it can't hurt. . .
