IT is easy enough to do. First do not install grub on the second install because you will only want one grub to control both installs. You will just need to put in the grub.conf the entry for the other install. create at a min two other partitions / and /boot. You will share the swap partition you already have between the two installs. If you wanted you could put more that two installs by following the same steps. GRUB will see the two installs and allow me to select which one to boot? In a sense, this all seems fairly easy...is it pretty straight-forward? anyone working with oracle 9ir2 under the beta?

being a complete novice at oracle, i'd like to make a first attempt at installing oracle 9ir2. are there any mailing lists devoted to oracle and linux? i've found a number of web sites with instructions on how to install 9ir2 on red hat 9, but they all differ ever so subtlely in their instructions, and it's not clear what's really, really *necessary* sometimes, and what's just a good idea, but optional. as an example, one site refers to configuring your new installation to use the latest JDK, while another states that oracle comes with its own (older) JRE, and that's just fine. what's a noob to believe? anyway, just a pointer to a mailing list would suffice, and i can take it from there. thanks. rday

Rawhide, kernels and NVIDIA

Since kernel 4.1.0, I have not been able to get an NVIDIA driver/support to compile and work on Rawhide. Either the download would not compile at all, or now it compiles but fails to work correctly. As far as I can tell (I may well be wrong) the beta 358.09 is the only driver/support that compiles against kernels 4.2.0 and later. This is now becoming a bit annoying as everything works fine on Debian.
