at the moment, when i install, i can get an estimate of how large

the /usr filesystem by selecting "Everything", even if i only plan on
installing
a subset of the packages. doing that at least tells me how much space i might
need later if i decide to add everything i left out.
It shouldn't be too hard to make the installer capable of telling you
"the total size of all the packages you could install in this Red Hat
release is ..." - even in the relnotes should be good enough.
