On the client have you edited system-config-network
add under hosts ip and hostname of printer box. (which as printer is
shared?, should be staic ip (safer)).
From cli then service network restart, service NetworkManager restart or
from gui said services restart.
I don't understand the steps you're suggesting. Keep in mind that on
this test machine I simply want to run system-config-samba to check
the status of bug #207887. On this test machine, I have no interest in
printers.
