Hi,
Okay now that ghc-7.10.3 is out, it seems a perfect time to work on
getting ghc-7.10 into Rawhide before F24 branches at the beginning of
Feb - there is little time left but if we focus I think we could do it
even this month.
I forgot to post last month that I made a GHC-7.10 Fedora Change page:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/GHC_7.10
which has been accepted by FESCo. Please add your name if you are able to help.
But various packages do need to be reviewed or otherwise dropped from
Fedora to achieve it.
My original mail in this thread from 2nd Oct is still largely
accurate: I think there haven't been a lot of updates since then.
We did get pandoc-citeproc updated.
The following reviews are pending since October:
filemanip:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1264288 (for pandoc)
libcmark (C):
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1266429
(needs an update from me)
extra:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1266847 (hlint, shake)
mtl-compat (maybe can be patched around?):
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1245021
sandi:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1256051
time-locale-compat
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1256057
Also Ben filed the http-conduit stack!
This is the list of new package reviews:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?bug_status=__open__&component...
(currently 36)
I can file more package reviews as needed.
But copr raises a very interesting question: how about we do a major
cleanup now of Fedora Haskell packages and remove old incomplete
stacks and anything that is not so essential to reduce the future
workload of the SIG? We could move some less-essential package to
Copr too if needed.

Also needs [http-conduit] which is…a large tree.
Is it possible to avoid it? I doubt we will have time to do that library stack.
Is moving git-annex to copr an option at all?
Otherwise I can try to plough through the PRs you posted
Ben, maybe you could help us to navigate that? I am not sure where to start.

I'd be down for this.
How do people think: can we try to do this Haskell Package Review
Activity period now in the two coming weeks? I know it is a busy time
of the year for many but if we don't start moving very soon we will
miss the train for F24.
If yes, let's form a more comprehensive plan of action quickly.
Jens
ps I'd also really like to stack into Fedora (I have a copr) but too
much work already for F24, so maybe for F25.
