Thanks for your reply.
Ok, I have those files on my ibook, what model machine are you
running.
Its a Mac Mini 1.4Hhz.
The MacIO PCI device shows up as:
0001:10:17.0 Class ff00: Apple Computer Inc. KeyLargo/Intrepid Mac I/O
The soundcard, from /etc/sysconfig/hwconf
-
class: AUDIO
bus: MACIO
detached: 0
driver: snd_powermac
desc: "Apple Computer Inc.|PowerMac Sound"
(wish there was an lsmacio...)
What do you have in your /dev/snd directory,
crw------- 1 mikem root 116, 0 Feb 8 13:00 controlC0
crw------- 1 mikem root 116, 33 Feb 8 13:00 timer
And that's all.
do you have a /dev/audio or /dev/dsp ?
No, neither.
Can you also dump me the output of amixer command ?
[root@nailbox ~]# amixer
amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such device
And that's all. Is this just a matter of some missing udev rules?
