If you have a spare partition that is not used in the installation you
can put the dvd iso-image on it. Then use the rescue cd to start the
installation, select hard disk method and point to the partition that
contains the iso image. this is also much faster than installing from
dvd drive.
Note that the partition also can not be part of a raid array (not even raid 1).
I had some issues with that as all of the partitions on one of my machines were
in raid arrays. I filed a bugzilla, but the response was that they didn't
want to support this due to the bloat of needing extra drivers in stage1.
