This method has been suggested for use on extras-list as the only way
to bump a package version without also bumping the version of all
later releases. I would suggest that's why it's being used
currently.
That's exactly the "non-devel" case, I was referring to in
my other
mail. It's handy when spec files fork between FC-releases, and when
packagers can't/don't want to kept them identical.
Rex' case however is the opposite. He wants idential specs, so he can't
avoid incrementing N.
What would be the proper way to handle that situation?
