Fedora 27 Bodhi Activation Point

Hi all, Today’s an important day on the Fedora 27 schedule[1], with several significant cut-offs. First of all today is the Bodhi activation point [2]. That means that from now all Fedora 27 packages must be submitted to updates-testing and pass the relevant requirements[3] before they will be marked as ‘stable’ and moved to the fedora repository. Today is also the Software String freeze[4], which means that strings marked for translation in Fedora-translated projects should not now be changed for Fedora 27. Finally, today is the ‘completion deadline’ Change Checkpoint[5], meaning that Fedora 27 Changes must now be ‘feature complete or close enough to completion that a majority of its functionality can be tested’. Proposal to CANCEL: 2017-08-28 Fedora QA Meeting (and blocker review meeting)

Hi folks! I'm proposing we cancel the QA meeting tomorrow. I'll be travelling to Flock, as I suspect a lot of other folks will be too. For the same reason I think tomorrow would be a bad time for a blocker review meeting, but we *do* need to run one, so I'll try and schedule one for later in the week, with Flock folks attending in person, if possible. If anyone does want to go ahead and run either meeting, please do say so. Hey, Calling all testers for the upcoming test day for LxQT[1] on 2017-08-17. LXQt is the Qt port and the upcoming version of LXDE, the Lightweight Desktop Environment. It is the product of the merge between the LXDE-Qt and the Razor-qt projects: A lightweight, modular, blazing-fast and user-friendly desktop environment. Fedora 24 End Of Life

As of the 8th of August 2017, Fedora 24 has reached its end of life for updates and support. No further updates, including security updates, will be available for Fedora 24. A previous reminder was sent on 21st of July 2017 [0]. Fedora 25 will continue to receive updates until approximately one month after the release of Fedora 27. The maintenance schedule of Fedora releases is documented on the Fedora Project wiki [1]. The Fedora Project wiki also contains instructions [2] on how to upgrade from a previous release of Fedora to a version receiving updates. Mohan Boddu.
