Where is diskboot.img?
by Kazutoshi Morioka
Was the diskboot.img gone?
If so, what is the replacement for diskboot.img?
Almost all PCs can't boot from efidisk.img.

Swallow an app in gnome panel?
by Reid Rivenburgh
Hi. I currently have two gnome panels; a vertical one on the right,
and a short one along the bottom. I use the one on the right for my
pager, window list, and miscellaneous utilities like meters and clock.
I currently have the system monitor applet in there, which works
well, but I'm partial to gkrellm. Is there a way in gnome to tell it
to add the full gkrellm window in the panel? Not a button to launch
gkrellm or something like that, but gkrellm itself. I had a similar
setup in KDE 3.5.
Thanks, reid

yum stuck trying to connect to Stanford
by Per Bothner
When I do a 'yum upgrade' (on F9), I get the attached result.
I looks like it's trying to connect to the Stanford network.
And indeed yesterday I was at Stanford with my laptop, and
it did try to connect to Stanford's wireless network, which is
one of those that requires a code/logon, which I don't have.
But now I'm home again, and I still get this weird error.
This is even after re-booting twice, stopping NetworkManager,
and manually bringing up eth0, which I connecting through just fine.
How do I "unstick" yum?

Can't watch flash player output with firefox (F9-prev)
by Leslie S Satenstein
F9beta worked like a charm. I did a clean install of the f9-prev,
installed the *repo for adobe flash, installed the flash (as I did for the
F9 Beta) and I have no sound from the flash website. Sound works from
mp3s and from ogg, so what do I need to do to have sound.
Leslie
PS as for more info. I am using the 686 version (32 bit) so that I do not ndiswrapper
I have switched sound option from autodetect to pulse, in case the problem is in that area.

jigdo
by Adam Pribyl
I appreciate the effort put into preparing jigdo and templates for F9,
however I'm bit strugglig what is the purpose of this method. It's maybe
great for server side distribution, but it's bit useless without users
using it right? As of now, there is no description how to use those
cryptic .jigdo file on fedoraproject pages. You can find it only on
http://fedoraunity.org/solved/post-install-solutions/jigdo/ and it
actually is not a "one click" method (btw: pyjigdo I did not found in
repos for F8, or am I wrong?). Would it be worth droping at least note at
get-fedora pages what to do with those jigdo files, if we do not have an
application to asociate them in web browser?

Add/Remove Software
by James J Catchpole
I am not sure if anyone has commented on the
Add/Remove Software function but I find it
almost impossible to use. Following are a couple
of comments:
1) It appears that you can only Add or Remove
one package at a time.
2) The Filter function is almost useless
3) After every Install | Remove the entire list
must be refreshed
4) Depending on 'whatever' it often displays
Packages multiple times
5) I calculate that if I spent several days
working steadily with this function I still
would not come close to finishing.
Maybe I am missing something that makes
this function usable; anyone have any ideas?

Package gnome-settings-daemon-2.22.1-0.2008.03.26.7.fc9.i386.rpm is not signed
by Arch Willingham
When trying to run yum update with the most recent version of F9, I get an error that says: "Package gnome-settings-daemon-2.22.1-0.2008.03.26.7.fc9.i386.rpm is not signed". The full text is shown below.
Any ideas?
