Hello all:
My name is Charles Profitt and I am interested in finding out more about Commops.
I have been involved in open source since 2006. I helped run a local linux user group and advocate for open source in my community. I have been involved in the Ubuntu Community for a long period of time:
* Primary Author of the Anti-Harassment policy statement used by the Ubuntu Community for UDS. * Wiki editor and administrator assisting in cleaning up and rejuvenating the community help wiki. * Member of Bug Squad and Bug Control teams. * Active as a contributor to AskUbuntu. * Ubuntu Weekly News Contributor

Hi Charles! Welcome to Fedora! I'm Keerthana (keekri) it's pretty awesome here. For starters, make sure you have an FAS account, check out the details here : https://admin.fedoraproject.org/accounts/ and start off by getting a couple of badges here at : https://badges.fedoraproject.org/ to get to know what Fedora's like. Don't forget to check out the wiki : https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/CommOps to see the different fields we help out with so that you can pick your own. Feel free to ask me or anyone at the IRC if you have any doubts. Have a great time! :)

Cprofitt,
Welcome welcome :)
Our team meets regularly in IRC in #feodra-meeting-2 on Tuesdays at UTC+5 (Noon EST) Perhaps you can join us then and meet some of the other members.
Since you are local to Rochester, I know Ralph Bean (threebean) is organizing a Fedora Activity Day (FAD) on Nov 14th-15th locally this weekend. I'm working with him to get the logistics nailed down, but as we get more information, it will be posted on our Event Wiki page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FAD_Python_3_Porting_2015#Planning
Your experience working with the Ubuntu community sounds both rewarding and valuable, and I think it will serve you well in working with Fedora. If I don't see you this weekend, then I'd def like to grab a bite or beverage with you in the near future before December.
Welcome to CommOps :)
Looking Forward, --RemyD.

Hi Charles!
I meant to reply sooner, but lost track of my inbox. :)
Welcome, officially, to the CommOps team! As we discussed on IRC a few nights ago, we're glad to have you join the team!
Remy pretty much said everything I was going to say and more, welcome aboard!
