Bus ticket logistics

Hi,

Bex had asked inline on the registration form mockup comments if we
could pre-purchase bus tickets ahead of time.

Yes, butthey only have a paper ticket system right now, which means we'd
be mailing tickets out - I don't think that will work. The other option
is for folks to purchase the tickets (cash only) upon boarding.

However, the bus company is moving to an electronic system where they
can scan tickets on smart phones or provide online ticket purchasing via
PDFs you can print. The system is planned to go live in May. Here is an

So hopefully we'll be able to take advantage of online ticketing.

Thanks for checking on this, Mo. That definitely makes things MUCH easier.
It was one of the things I was most concerned about wrt making transit easy.

Hi Mo,

Will the tickets be assigned to a person specifically?  There are a
couple of folks who may not need their ticket in the end and it'd be
great to be able to refund them if that happens.

What is the process for making these orders?  Are the tickets bus
specific?  If so, can we get a schedule so we can pair buses to flights?

Hi Stephen,

There is an express bus out of tyngsboro that will bring you to south station where you
can pick up the hyannis bus everyone else is on. Info is on the wiki page linked under
tranaportation at flocktofedora.org. specifically check out the section that talks about
regional resident opts.

Mary Shakshober uses this bus to commute to the Boston RHT office so she might be able to
answer any qs you have about it.
