One thing is not yet very much clear to me yet is, difference between "Input Method Map" and "Input Method Table". Could you please try to explain it a bit more in detail.
It is probably a bit Linux/ibus/scim specific: m17n has maps whereas scim-tables and ibus-table use a different simpler linear format which is compiled to a binaries table which can be efficient for very large tables of chinese characters, etc.

I've revised the page, provided further details of several definition, and added the keyboard layout section (very brief).
I also changed "Input method configuration tools" to "input method system chooser", as it actually choose the input method framework instead of configure individual input methods.
