Generally speaking, mixing RPM packages with <insert your favorite development platform here> native packages is not doing a favor to our users. I agree that some users may need more up-to-date modules, but isolated environments are a better alternative in these cases.
Off course, as a distribution, we could try to leverage Fedora personal repositories for such uses or try to help maintainer to provide up-to-date packages if possible.
