You may want to take a look at YellowDog Linux, another rpm-based distro.
I tried the current boot.iso on a G4 machine and it doesnt get the partitioning right it boots but screws up the system partitioning

If so could you add details of what exactly happened and how the partitioning was screwed up. If not new bug please...
