Uploads are still done with "curl" afaik. So:

Yes, it's likely caused by the openssl -> nss switch, more at rhbz#266021.
See also workaround in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=266021#c3 which requires some changes to the Makefile though.
