I use cvs.fedora.redhat.com, but i am not sure if that is because I'm a packager. But my cvs checkout worked fine.

but where are the upstream sources ?
Can you understand my question ?

In the lookaside repository. "make sources" in the per-branch subdirectory should pull them down.

For what it's worth, system-config-lvm is at least in violation of https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/SourceURL and should not have passed its merge review as-is. The merge review ticket is https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=226462
