Any chance to include an RSS aggregator in Fedora?

I like Straw the best - feels like a real Gnome application. It has been a bit heavy on dependencies, but getting better and better.
I'd like to start by getting Straw packaged for the fedora.us repository - and worry about including it by default later (if ever).
Anyone interested in helping get Straw packaged for Fedora?

Someone is already working on it: https://bugzilla.fedora.us/show_bug.cgi?id=1841

There is actually already a copy of 0.22.1 in the testing repo.

It's already packaged and yum-able on dag.wieers.com but it does not work for me - all i get is a blank page.
I got burned by this too. It turns out you have to drag the vertical separator to the middle of the window. By default it's folded completely to the left. I'll check to see if this bug is filed.

Ohhh, that was mean! :-)
Ok, i dragged it. But it still does not work. All it says is "No data yet, need to poll first". But it claims that the update is done.

Sounds a bit like some of the issues I've run into while reviewing the update at fedora.us. That's one of the reasons why the repository is stuck at v0.22.1 which works fine.

Got the 0.22.1 src.rpm from fedora.us, rebuilt it, installed over the newer one with --oldpackage and it works! Cool...

Both Liferea and Straw are available in http://fedora.us already.

Frankly, i think Liferea has the better interface metaphor.
Straw kinda hides the categories and requires too many clicks to jump from within one category to another. With Liferea, everything can be visible at once in the left-most panel and jumping from one item to another can be a matter of exactly one click (if categories are expanded). Syndigator is similar to Liferea.

Ok, that's not true. Sorry.

A plus side for Straw is that a feed could be a member of multiple categories though. It's like Epiphany's approach to bookmarks, which is nice.
Unfortunately the latest version of Straw, 0.25.1, is a bit problematic on FC3t1.. and rather slow on FC2 (see bugzilla.fedora.us) .. but 0.22.1 works just fine.

Also try this http://www.disobey.com/amphetadesk/
Works great, www interface (desktop-independent) I use straw for a while, but it's bad on usability.
