umb-scheme package removal

Hi Fedora folks, umb-scheme package is planned to be removed from FC3 and replaced by slib. The reason is that the most of packages are dependent on umb-scheme because of slib (such as Guile, etc.) and the thing what comes in question is whether the umb-scheme is used by someone. Furthermore encapsulation of slib into umb-scheme denies visibility of the slib authors. Browsable source/patch/SPEC tree

Hi, When will we see a browsable source/patch/SPEC tree for all released srpms, so I don't have to download bloody xorg-x11.src.rpm just to have a peek at the current SPEC file? Just a tree with all packages, where every maintainer keeps his/her source, SPEC and patches for every version (s)he releases. Hard links could be used where appropriate (large tarballs and unmodified patches). Would be very useful, especially during development phases. postfix bug? kernel bug?

Sorry for reposting this (I sent it to fedora-list earlier), but I'm running out of ideas... I'm having a weird problem... I'm trying to set up a mail server for a client. It's a dual Opteron box with 4GB RAM running FC2/x86_64. I'm setting it up with amavisd-new, which requires setting up postfix to listen on a port (so postfix relays to amavisd which relays to postfix). The initial connection to postfix (port 25) is fine. The mail is processed by amavisd fine. I've also tried upgrading postfix to 2.1.4-1 from rawhide. Nothing seems to change the behavior. It's entirely possible that I've screwed something up somewhere that explains all this, but I'm inclined to think not... I've basically cloned a working config from another (i386) box. Announcement @ http://www.open-xchange.org Anyone working on packaging for fedora? I guess one issue is that it requires a JDK. AFAIK, there isn't one standard JDK for Fedora.

rpm error message, some more detail would be nice.

When doing something with rpm that should really be done as root could it please say for example "error: can't create transaction lock, do you need to be root", or maybe a permission problem message instead of : $ rpm -e kernel-2.6.5-1.358 kernel-2.6.8-1.541 error: can't create transaction lock How would I formally request a more useful error message? For the first half second I think, "huh, what's wrong", half a second after that I throw a 'sudo' in front of it. -n.
