Not so much luck, as a sufficiently good process mostly being

tweaked with improvements, the more lucky one becomes' ;) ]
The post partially quoted above points up another benefit from
the virtue of 'packaging everything' as discussed in the
recent 'packaging ruby dependencies' thread. When an upstream
'goes wonky' for whatever reason (there was a similar example
in the Node.js ecosystem where a maintainer took down a minor
but critical dependency, and 'broke world'), one can 'fall
back' to the last SRPMS (and other VCS backups as well), and
recover
Without packaged sources, and the discipline of sub-dependency
determination and solution, and the 'four freedoms' checking
goodness of a formal 'licenses review', and the additional set
of eyes cross-checking work, one loses so much

Network interface regression on F26 VM after 4.13/4.12 kernel update

I was running F25 (4.10) on a VM inside KVM/Qemu/libvirt on CentOS 7.3 (updated).
Then I upgraded it (via dnf system-upgrade) to F26 and 4.11 and it was still working well, as I recall.
Then I upgraded it again to 4.13 and now I’m seeing flakiness in the network: the NIC will randomly come up and go down.
Right now I’m seeing:

Before the network configuration used to be rock-solid. I’m running on a Xeon D-1548 SoC with an on-chip X552/557 (ixgbe.ko) and an off-chip i350 (igb.ko) quad-NIC. In this case, I’m using the first port of the i350.

I’ve also tried “e1000”, “igb”, and “rtl8139” as the model type, with no appreciable difference since this problem started.
Just did a quick check: reinstalling 4.11.10-300 seems to restore functionality.
It was broken when I tried 4.12.11-300 as well.

Accidentally disabling units with systemd scriptlets

Hey folks,
I recently did a large re-write of a specfile in order to provide a
Python 3 version and to make it easier to maintain.
Prior to this re-write the specfile produced a number of subpackages
that each provided a service file (fedmsg-hub, fedmsg-relay, ...). In
my re-write I had the python2-fedmsg sub-package provide all these
packages. There weren't any systemd scriptlets, either, so I added
those.
The problem is that now when you upgrade, the service is disabled even
if you have it enabled before the upgrade. I believe this is happening
because now the python2-fedmsg package provides the unit file and the
installation scriptlet calls "systemctl --no-reload preset" due it being
an initial install (since it's a new subpackage that is a merge of the
old subpackages).
Has anyone run into this problem before? What are my options for fixing
this?

Fedora 27 Server Beta status (3rd round) is NO-GO

Release status of the Fedora 27 Server Beta is NO-GO.
The next Go/No-Go meeting is planned on Thursday, November 2nd
together with second round of F27 Final Go/No-Go meeting. The F27
Server Beta release slips for one week. The slip also affects the F27
Server GA, it moves to 2017-Dec-19 having Go/No-Go meeting on
2017-Dec-14.
