Hi, Just want to say welcome to Fedora 27 ! The RPM Fusion repository is ready to server f27 content in time for the release. However, there are few packages that were broken in the process. The ones I'm aware are currently fixed and been pushed in the updates repos. I plan to fixup the GA repo before this week-end to avoid any issue. Thx for the work done. -- - Nicolas (kwizart)

Deprecating old networking protocols

The kernel has seen an uptick in testing from fuzzers lately. This has been great for the kernel as its exposed a number of bugs. See https://googleprojectzero.blogspot.com/2017/05/exploiting-linux-kernel-vi... as an example. Part of this has also shown what areas of the kernel are undermaintained. One of those areas is older networking protocols. Maintainers have started pushing patches to deprecate some of these https://marc.info/?l=linux-netdev&m=151067745601327&w=2 https://marc.info/?l=linux-netdev&m=151060836604824&w=2 As the upstream kernel starts to deprecate these, Fedora is going to follow suit as well. My plan is to turn off options that are going to be deprecated. I already turned off DCCP in rawhide based on some other conversations. As always, your feedback is important here. Nobody is quite sure how much these protocols are being used so if you have use cases, please let us know. Thanks, Laura

grub2-tools problem is causing dnf system-upgrade failures, F26->F27

grub2-tools does not belong to a distupgrade repository, causes software-upgrade failure https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1491624 I've found at least three bug reports, each with some grub2 component that has a problem with grub2-tools when doing F26 to F27 'dnf system-upgrade download'. I also ran into this problem during my upgrade, and removing grub2-tools and grub2-efi-modules, which fixed my problem. But this is bad advice to give to people who have unique setups and maybe depend on grub2-efi-modules to reboot into the upgrade environment successfully. Anyway, I used --debug-solver to try to get more information to attach to the bug report, but this doesn't work. https://github.com/rpm-software-management/dnf-plugins-extras/issues/112 Could someone, maybe from the dnf team, take a look at this? A suggestion on how to get more info, or even better a solution to the problem? I suspect we'll see more of these because the installation state of the people who have reported this problem so far (including me) are completely unremarkable; but are somehow different than a clean F26 system, otherwise this would have been caught during QA testing of upgrades. Had I run into this sooner, I definitely would have nominated it a blocker. -- Chris Murphy

Changes Policy & Fedora Release Life Cycle - request for review

Hi everybody, I tried to merge together all the changes we were facing during the last time with regards to Changes Policy & Fedora Release Life Cycle. The outcome is available in [1] and [2]. Before I will ask FESCo for a review, I would like to ask anyone who is interested for a review and comments.
