Orphaning ptpd
by Jon Kent
Hi,
I'm afraid I'm going to have to orphan the ptpd package, as I no longer
have the means to test it.

GRIPE: A package is not FTBFS if the dependencies can't be installed
by Richard Shaw
I received a FTBFS[1] on one of my packages for the F26 rebuild only to
find out the only reason it failed (that I know of thus far) is that not
all the dependencies could be installed.
The root cause seems to be that not all dependent packages were rebuilt
when boost was updated to 1.63. Since I maintain said package I'm taking
care of it now...
Is there an easy way to segregate failures in root.log (exit !=0) versus a
real build failure?
It may be a bit pedantic but I don't like getting assigned bugs saying the
package can't be built from source when in fact, compilation never started
to begin with because the dependencies could not be met.

Emails about new packages
by Steve Grubb
Hello,
I have a package, suricata, that I maintain. I closely follow upstream. Some
how I got signed up for a new package notification that I never asked for. It
sends emails like this:
A new version of "suricata" has been detected: "3.2.1" newer than "3.2",
packaged as "suricata"
https://release-monitoring.org/project/10925/
The 3.2.1 version is in koji, why was this email sent to bother me? At some
time in the past, I tracked it down and found a way to "turn this off". But
guess what? Now I get 2 emails. The first is above, and the second one is this:
the-new-hotness saw an update for suricata, but pkgdb says the maintainers are
not interested in bugs being filed
https://release-monitoring.org/project/10925/
Why? This is really passive aggressive. How do I unsubscribe from this
unwanted release monitoring service?
Thanks,
-Steve

mono fedora integration and help
by Catalin
Dear Fedora friends.
I have some questions about Fedora and C# -mono:
1. why don't see into Fedora distro this command:
mint = Mono Interpreter (A mono interpreter that allows for the execution
of applications without using JIT. The instructions are interpreted
directly into x86 instructions.)
2. where can I find some C# and Gtk resurces to deal with learning C# under
linux ( I used internet search and I don't find tutorials , just install
the mono into linux) .
3. Can one Fedora user (group) to help me with learning the C# under linux
and Fedora ?
Thank you. Regards.
