FYI results of the OCaml 4.08 beta 3 rebuild
by Richard W.M. Jones
https://pagure.io/releng/issue/8310
I'm rebuilding OCaml 4.08.0 beta 3 into a side tag. This is a
preliminary rebuild only - I'll do the real rebuild when 4.08.0 is
finally released. This email has interim results.
* ocaml-camlp4, ocaml-camlp5 (macro packages)
Still waiting for these to be ported to 4.08. I had a go at porting
camlp4 but the changes were beyond my skills, so we'll have to wait
for someone that knows what they're doing. Unfortunately lack of
these packages blocks about a third of the other packages.
* ocaml-zarith (integer arithmetic library)
Fails to build the final zq binary. I'm not sure this is related to
the compiler upgrade at all, could be an unrelated FTBFS.
* ocaml-camomile (Unicode)
* ocaml-benchmark (timing & benchmarking)
Both of these enable warn-error for deprecated code, and fail because
the new compiler emits more deprecation warnings (which turn into
errors). I will have a go and see if I can remove the warn-error for
both these packages later.
Rich.

by Adam Williamson
I've filled in the vacation calendar too, but just in case anyone
doesn't check that - I'm going to be on vacation from 2019-05-02
(tomorrow) to 2019-05-19. Please contact anyone on the QA team (test@
list, #fedora-qa IRC) for general QA stuff, and lruzicka for openQA
stuff. I will be checking my email periodically, and am available via
Telegram in case of emergency. Thanks!

Plan to retire ffgtk (Fritzbox manager)
by Louis Lagendijk
hi all,
I am planning to retire ffgtk as I no longer use it and it does no
longer work with "recent" Fritzbox modem firmware from AVM. Any
objections?
I now Roger exists s replacement, but I have no interest in packiging
it.
best regards, Louis

Orphaning two packages
by David Cantrell
I am orphaning the following packages in Fedora:
clpbar - Command line progress bar utility
gpart - guess your partition table (for recovery purposes)
These are low traffic packages, but I lack the time to continue maintaining
these. The packages are already transferred to the orphan user, so feel
free to grab them in you want them.
Thanks,

latest rubygem-puppet-lint for F29 is from F23???
by John Florian
I know it's not unusual to carry builds over from prior releases. My
understanding is that happens because there was no mass rebuild.
However, when I look at the F29 repo I see
rubygem-puppet-lint-1.1.0-2.fc23.noarch.rpm. Was there really no mass
rebuild between F23 and F29? This package is severely outdated --
upstream has v2.3.6 and v1.1.0 dates back to 2014. It looks like a
build hasn't succeeded in Koji since F23. I don't know why because I
don't see any build logs for any of these failures. I also was under
the impression that FTBS packages like this get culled.
Is my understanding buggy or did this leak through somehow?
