Minimize systemd for kdump's initramfs

Hi all, I noticed there is a Fedora minimization project which seems could be a bit related to the thing I'm trying to do, and this could be a generic topic. What I'm trying to do is reduce the initramfs size used for kdump. Kdump loads a crash kernel and kdump initramfs image in a prereseved memory region, which get booted when current kernel crashed and perform crash dump. The prereserved memory is limited, so initramfs shouldn't go too big. Kdump in Fedora use Dracut to create bootable initramfs, just hook the final step to do kdump things instead of switch root. And to reduce the size only the binaries and drivers required to boot and perform kdump on current machine is installed. So long it have been working very well. But problem is Dracut works by reusing binaries and libraries from the currently running system, and many userspace binaries and libraries is keep growing and using more space. So the initramfs is also growing. But kdump only expect systemd to start some services. I think there might be many features not needed by kdump being brought in. Fedora 32 Wifi Loss

Sorry if this is the wrong list for this, but since this refers to Fedora 32 I figured I would start here. I updated to the Fedora 32 Branched release and my Wifi no longer enables on the 5.6 RC kernel. lspci still shows the wireless card by the is no wifi section in Gnome settings and ip addr show does not show the card. Leftover kernels from F31 still work fine with Wifi. My card is an Intel Wireless AC 9260 Any suggestions on how to debug? -- Mark Bidewell http://www.linkedin.com/in/markbidewell

Temporary package rollback by using Version: <version>+really.<actualversion>

Hi Get ship a working licensecheck again in rawhide (stuck at v3.0.39 due to later versions requiring a non-free library), I need to temporarily downgrade perl-Regexp-Pattern-License, which was since updated to a version which isn't compatible with licensecheck-3.0.39 anymore. This is a temporary thing, as upstream will look at removing the non-free dependency in future versions [1]. As the upstream maintainer mentioned in [1], in debian they do temporary rollbacks by specifying Version: <version>+really.<actualversion> in my case of perl-Regexp-Pattern-License, that would mean %global realversion 3.1.99 Version: 3.2.0+really.%{realversion} Release: 1%{?dist} i.e. perl-Regexp-Pattern-License-3.2.0+really.3.1.99-1 [2]. Is this approach permissible? (Obvious alternative would be an Epoch bump, which I'd rather avoid, or patching licensecheck to remove the non-free dependency, which however results in some deficiencies, see [1]). Turning off keys.fedoraproject.org

Fedora has been part of an GPG sks service[1] for a number of years running off of keys.fedoraproject.org. Last year, there were a number of attacks made on the service which due to its 'write-only' nature makes it impossible to clean up [2] [3]. When the attacks came up, and it was clear it was not easily fixable, we moved keys to a proxy only mode. However this mode has not been too stable and caused other issues. Fedora Infrastructure has tried to figure out ways to run a service replacement, but currently has not found one which we can with the resources we have available. We plan to turn off and decommission keys.fedoraproject.org on 2020-02-10. We currently recommend people to use https://keys.openpgp.org/ which offers lookup capabilities.
