Fedora-Legal-README.txt in installation media outdated?
by Qiyu Yan
If you download a Fedora 34 live iso at https://getfedora.org/
with filename: Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-34-1.2.iso
Mount it and see Fedora-Legal-README.txt in the image. There are many
Fedora 31 things show up, should this file be updated on each release
cycle?
(Maybe not, unless someone like me mounts the iso file by mistake, and
check the Legal file by curiosity LOL)

Unretiring and maintaining the Fish Fillets NG game
by Nikolay Nikolov
Hi,
After my recent upgrade to Fedora 34, I was disappointed to find out
that one of my favorite puzzle games Fish Fillets NG has been retired.
So, I decided I should make an effort to get it back from the dead and
maintain it.
The relevant packages are:
fillets-ng
fillets-ng-data
The fillets-ng-data compiles without changes on f34 and rawhide, but
fillets-ng failed, due to incompatibility with newer lua version, so I
made a patch. I made koji scratch builds for f34 and rawhide and
compilation succeeded on all archs:
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=66893530
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=66893533
I tested the f34 x86_64 package on my computer and it works.
So, now I'm happy once again that I can help these cute little fish find
a safe way out from their messy underwater environment. :) Now it's time
to share this with other Fedora users :)
What are the next steps for unretiring these two packages and
maintaining them?
Btw, I'm still relatively new to Fedora and package maintenance, but I'm
already a maintainer of one package - hedgewars, however that package
has never been retired, so I haven't yet gone through the process of
unretiring a package.
Best regards,
Nikolay

Spin maintainers attention required! Anaconda keyboard layout
switching needs to change
by jkonecny@redhat.com
Hi everyone,
I've just filed a bug with all the details about the topic so we can
start discussion there:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1955025
I gave a short summary here.
The libxklavier library will be deprecated from a future Fedora (it
doesn't mean Fedora 35!). Anaconda and InitialSetup are using this
library to be able to read and switch keyboard layouts. We need to find
a proper replacement and for that I need to get ideas from Fedora Spin
maintainers. I don't know your environment good enough to decide what
would be best for your spin.
Please if you have an idea how to approach this issue. Tell us ideally
in the bug. Thanks for everyone for your input!
Best Regards,
Jirka from Anaconda team

Where'd my package builds go?
by Greg Hellings
So I built my package a few times for F34 in the Rawhide cycle (e.g.
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2020-90a4c6ba11)
It was rebuilt successfully by releng for F34 (e.g.
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1695213)
However, it does not appear in F34 in this version (1.9.0-3) but instead in
a version from 2 months before my last build and 4 months before the releng
build (1.9.0RC3-1 from last August). Neither do any of the newer builds
live in Rawhide.
What am I doing wrong that my package has happily built, but apparently
never made it into Rawhide or F34? Those later builds, up through 1.9.0-2,
are in F33. Is there some additional step that's new in the F34 cycle that
I missed, that I need to do? I'm executing a rebuild of the package so I
can push it through Bodhi, but the previous versions also went through
there but never appeared on mirrors.
