If you have a single btrfs filesystem with one snapshot from a while back and one "head", would it be possible for some hypothetical tool to create a new head which looks like the root from the snapshot but with the latest /home on top? I mean, without actually copying the files from the snapshot, just creating a "fake snapshot" that can the be mounted and writeable. Then you wouldn't need a separate /home.
