There would be a significant change between Ivy Bridge and Haswell,
since it's a "tock" type of Intel development where the
micro-architecture changes. And that sort of change may affect the bug
we're discussing. Particularly if someone put in a fix for Haswell CPUs
and mis-applied it to IvyBridge too :-)
