The mirrorlist among other things are down with the traffic from Fedora 
8 downloads.  Fedora infrastructure team is working on resolving this.

Actually, that's not what appears to have happened. The site that
mirrorlist app runs on went off line due to some kind of switch failure.
But since no fedora distribution release traffic was going through there
it is unlikely that the failure was due to the fedora release.

Just to be VERY clear.
