I read through my archive and all I can see is a short discussion proposing changing to gwibber.
Is anyone actively trying to get an exception for pino a la gwibber? Or should someone be taking up this cudgel?

I don't know, but I'd guess, that volunteers to get such an exception would be helpful. You'd want to coordinate with pino upstream, of course.

Nomintated as one; it needs to go through the normal review process. And the fix for this may not involve fixing pino, if that proves intractable.
