Hello all,
As a member of the VMware Tools team since 2016, I have actively participated
in the publication of granular change updates to the branches of https://
github.com/vmware/open-vm-tools/. For the past year I have been responsible
for committing the changes to GitHub as well as publishing the last 5 releases
of open-vmtools, versions 11.1.5 through 11.3.5.
To test open-vm-tools changes, VMware internally builds open-vm-tools packages
for actively supported Linux releases as well as in progress Linux builds.
This involves packaging changes both for RPM packaging and Debian dpkg
formats. Needed packaging changes are shared with Linux vendors when I file
rebase requests for each open-vm-tools release.
I look forward to working with the Fedora community and particularly with the
open-vm-tools packaging team.
Welcome to Fedora!
Rich.
